A 22-year-old former mechanic from Austria who lost both of his arms in an accident in 2005 is back behind the wheel.
Christian Kandlbauer is reportedly Europe's first recipient of an artificial "smart" limb that allows him to use his thoughts to control his new arms.
The thought from his brain creates a particular electrical impulse in the nerve endings at the site of amputation, according to the
Daily Mail.
Kandlbauer was fitted with the spiffy prosthetics two years ago after it was developed by health care company The Otto Bock in corporation with medical scientists in Vienna.
"The driving is really important to me," Kandlbauer told the Daily Mail. "But now I can also drink a glass of beer without needing a straw. Now that's impressive!"
