An Angel Can Fly Even From A Wheelchair

SOUTHWEST MIAMI-DADE (CBS4) ― A.J. Jones will celebrate his 21st birthday Saturday. His last eleven years have been confined to a wheelchair.

He celebrates each day evolving into something better. He takes courses online from a university. He wrote a book. He's fond of saying, "No matter how much it rains, it can't rain forever."

A.J. formed a non-profit organization called "Follow Our Dreams", and asked Neighbors4Neighbors to help him find a recipient for a computer he wanted to donate.

There was no better candidate than 18-year-old Shana McPherson, brought up in foster care, now a young mother, and also trying to complete her college studies.

"I want him to know that you can struggle but it won't stop you from being determined," Shana said, and all the while referring to A.J. as her angel.

A.J. plans to keep giving others so "obstacles in life don't stop" people from realizing their dreams.
