Pata Was Murdered Tuesday, November 7, 2006

by Natalia Zea
OPA-LOCKA (CBS4) ― Monday was a particularly painful day for the family of Bryan Pata, and because of that his family has a message they want you to hear regarding their son's unsolved murder.

A grieving family gathered around the gravesite of the fallen UM Football player to pay their respects on the six month anniversary of his murder, but behind the grief lies despair.

The family is still desperate that police find the murderer of their loved one in this unsolved case. Pata would've graduated from the school on Friday, but his college football career was cut short by a murder in front of his apartment in Kendall.

With tears rolling down her face, Jeanette Pata plead in front of CBS4's camera for anyone with clues to her son's murder to call police.

"Please people say something," said Pata. "Don't hide it; don't hide it. This could happen to anyone."

Pata was getting ready to be drafted to the NFL when he was murdered. He had even picked out a special suit for the event but instead was buried in it.
