End Of Rainy Season Spells More Drought Troubles

by Joan Murray
PALM BEACH COUNTY (CBS4) ― Being weeks away from the end of rainy season is not good news for our main water supply, Lake Okeechobee.

Even though the water level is up one foot from the record low it hit two months ago, it's nowhere near normal levels.

And now there's a new problem, the levee that keeps the lake in place is becoming dry and cracked because of the persistent dry conditions. This means if heavy rains or a storm come, it could break.

As far as the average homeowner is concerned, don't think that any of the water restrictions that are in place will be lifted any time soon.
