Miramar Man Arrested, Heading Up Human Smuggling Ring
CBS
Roman Robaina, who lives near Miramar, was arrested earlier in the week, accused of heading a human smuggling ring, according to law enforcement officials on Saturday.
Authorities said Robaina and his girlfriend were arrested, charged not only with smuggling humans into the U.S., but also for their alleged involvement in money laundering.
In Arizona, where the investigation is headed, Phoenix police say the ring reportedly made $30-million a year, smuggling about 300 illegal immigrants into the U.S. through Arizona each week.
