HOLLYWOOD (CBS4) ―
Jitters over the shootings at Virginia Tech have some South Florida students on edge.
Hollywood Hills High School and the adjacent Stirling Elementary School were locked down late Tuesday morning as police checked out reports of a teen that may have threatened suicide.
Several students reportedly told administration officials at the high school that one of their classmates had sent them pictures of a gun over his cellphone and said he was going to kill himself after school.
School officials called police who locked down both buildings and searched every room for the student. He was eventually found at his home in Davie. The lock down was lifted, and police took the teen into custody for his own protection.
