State Puts Insurance Company Cancellations On Hold
sr
MIAMI (CBS4) ―
If your insurance company recently wrote that your homeowners policy was not being renewed, you may have a little breathing space.
Gov. Crist and his cabinet issued an emergency order last week which is retroactive, thereby freezing rates and preventing policy cancellations and non-renewals.
The state's office of insurance regulation says all this takes effect during a 90-day period ending May 1st.
Allstate Floridian's announcement not renewing 106,000 policies immediately would be effected by this ruling, as well as other insurers.
