Author: Dahmer Connected To Adam Walsh Murder?

lc
MIAMI (CBS4) ― A Miami author is making a strange connection between notorious serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer and the murder of Adam Walsh in 1981.

Adam's father is "America's Most Wanted" host John Walsh who actually started his crusade against crime after Adam's murder.

Author Arthur Jay Harris has written an article, theorizing that serial killer Jeffery Dahmer may have been involved in Walsh's disappearance.
Harris started looking at the Walsh case after a legal ruling opened the ten-thousand page Walsh file to the public.

Walsh was abducted from a Sears store in the Hollywood Mall on July 27th, 1981. His head was found in a drainage canal two weeks later. His body was never found.

Dahmer was living in South Florida when the boy disappeared. Harris uncovered statements in the Dahmer file by two witnesses who claimed to have seen Dahmer at that mall, on the day he went missing.

Those statements came ten years after Walsh's murder when the trail of Dahmer's horrendous crimes unfolded in 1991.

One of the men said Dahmer hit on him and then went into a rage when his advances were rejected. The last place the witness says he saw Dahmer was walking into the Sears toy department, which is the last place that Adam Walsh was seen alive.

The second witness described a man who resembled Dahmer as he struggled with a young boy in the parking lot. The witness says the man threw the boy into a blue van and took off.

When news broke of Dahmer's crimes, Hollywood police asked Milwaukee investigators to question Dahmer about the Walsh case. Milwaukee Detective Dennis Murphy says Dahmer repeatedly denied killing Adam. Murphy says Dahmer had been forthcoming about his other crimes.

Retired FBI agent Neil Purtell says Dahmer was a talented liar, and given the evidence that Harris uncovered, it's time to re-open the Walsh case with a team of seasoned investigators. Adam's father, John Walsh, agrees.
