Catch A Thief On MySpace

FORT SMITH, ARKANSAS (CBS4) ― The website synonymous with people communicating with people, lots of people, is now a tool for police to spread the word about fugitives, and in this case, bank robbers, one who has hit four banks in Arkansas and is still on the loose.

In an effort to reach a larger audience, the Fort Smith police have created a MySpace page on his behalf.

"I haven't been caught yet. Nobody seems to be able to identify me. And there's a sizeable award leading to my arrest," says an officer pretending to be the robber on the site.

They even write amusing captions below photographs they have of the suspect. One reads, "Here I am robbing a bank in Forth Smith. I'm so cool."

Police hope the suspect's pictures end up on a computer belonging to someone who knows the fugitive. One officer says, "Because there are so many people who sign onto Myspace and look at the photos, we feel it's a good tool to get a picture of someone we're trying to identify
out to more eyes."

And there is a reward for whoever provides information leading to his arrest.
