Metrozoo Throws A Birthday Bash For A Special King

MIAMI (CBS4) ― A royal birthday bash was held at Miami's Metrozoo Sunday to celebrate the birthday of a King.

King George, an endangered King Cheetah who resides at the zoo, turns 8 years old this week. George is one of only five King Cheetahs in the United States.

Sunday, Metrozoo staff members prepared and served King George a special cake and all zoo visitors received free cupcakes. Also, the first two hundred kids through the gate received a special stuffed toy cheetah.

Visitors also got the opportunity to take an up close picture with King George, one of only two King Cheetah's in a U.S. hands-on training program.
