Miami Dade Honors 4 Officers Involved In Shoot Out


(CBS4) Four Miami Dade police officers involved in deadly shoot out last month in southwest Miami Dade were honored Tuesday by their brother and sisters in blue.

Miami Dade Mayor Carlos Alvarez presided over the ceremony at Miami Dade Police headquarters which honored officers Jose Somohano, Christopher Carlin, Tomas Tunidor and Jody Wright.

Officer Somohano was killed during an exchange of gunfire with Shawn LaBeet who opened fire during a traffic stop.

Jody Wright, who received a serious injury to her right leg and remains hospitalized, was not able to attend the ceremony. Officers Carlin and Tunidor, who were treated and released after the shooting, were able to attend the service.
