ORLANDO (CBS4) ―
Attention fans of Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie. The Simpsons are coming to Orlando, well sort of.
A new ride featuring America's favorite dysfunctional family will be built at Universal Orlando, and at the Universal Studios theme park in Los Angeles.
The attraction will be Simpson character Krusty the Clown's dreamed-up fantasy as he envisions his own amusement park, complete with thrill rides and live shows.
Universal spokesman Tom Schroder says all of the elements of a theme park will be housed in this single attraction. Simpson creator Matt Groening is collaborating with Universal on the project which they hope to have open by 2008.
This July, the cartoon family hits the big screen in their first full length movie.
