Photos Show Britney Driving With Baby On Lap
Spears Says She Was Being Stalked By Aggressive Paparazzi

CALIFORNIA (CBS4 News) ―
Pop singer Britney Spears is defending herself after pictures of her driving with her baby son Sean Preston on her lap were released on the Internet.
The photos show Spears driving in traffic with one arm around Sean on her lap, rather than strapped into a baby car seat, while her bodyguard sits next to them.
According to People magazine, Spears took the baby out of his car seat while her bodyguard went into a Malibu Starbucks to get some coffee. After the bodyguard returned, photographers began to hassle the singer, so she sped off while still holding her son.
You can see the photographs of the incident that we can't show you on CBS4.COM on CBS4 News First at 5.The singer claims she took off because the paparazzi became aggressive and she was trying to get her son out of harm's way.
Spears told People magazine in a statement: "Today I had a horrifying, frightful encounter with the paparazzi while I was with my baby. Because of a recent incident when I was trapped in my car without my baby by a throng of paparazzi, I was terrified that this time the physically aggressive paparazzi would put both me and my baby in danger." "I instinctively took measures to get my baby and me out of harm's way, but the paparazzi continued to stalk us, and took photos of us which were sold to the media. I love my child and would do anything to protect him," Spears said.
Spears gave birth to her son Sean in September.
