Raccoon Lives After Jump Off Overpass

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (CBS) ― A raccoon hanging over a freeway overpass gave people at an antique flea market a big scare in Sacramento on Easter Sunday.

Police tried save the raccoon as people gathered under the overpass as the drama unfolded.

Finally animal control came in, but they tried to snare him the animal jumped as the crowd screamed.

Firefighters covered the raccoon with a tarp thinking it was dead on the ground below, but the critter perked back up as officials lifted him into a container for transport.

Bystanders at the overpass were calling the incident an Easter miracle.
