Man Sentenced To 6 Years For Stealing $25 In Gas
ANDERSON, Ind. (AP) ―
A man who stole $25 worth of gas from an Anderson convenience store, and threatened to run over a clerk who tried to stop him, faces six years in prison.
Twenty-eight-year-old Michael Williams was sentenced to ten years, four of them suspended.
He pleaded guilty yesterday to one count of armed robbery for the August incident.
Williams was charged with armed robbery because he threatened to run over the clerk and prosecutors deemed his car a deadly weapon.
Williams also pleaded guilty to a single charge of theft for stealing more than $52,000 between July 2004 and March 2006, when he worked as a manager for a pair of Wendy's restaurants.
Under a plea agreement, he was given a suspended sentence for the theft charge.
