Lauderhill Ministry & Community Center Burglarized

To Help, Call: Anointed One Outreach Center, Inc. 954 274 7554

LAUDERHILL (CBS4) ― It's a story that in recent months has been reported much too often: hard working people, giving back to the community being robbed. That's what happened to the leader of a small ministry in Lauderhill.

The Anointed One Outreach Center is a place where children color and play, and receive praise for good grades. However, now it's a crime scene. A thief or thieves busted through the door of center. You can see the indentation in the carpet where a 52 inch TV once stood.

"The TV is something we'd been praying for, and we just got that," said Patricia Riley, who runs the ministry. "It's been less than a month and it's gone."

Riley also runs the free after school program, the food distribution and the Bible study program. She says the thieves also stole computers, A DVD player, a Playstation and the videogames.

She told CBS4's Carey Codd that her community needs their help, but now those people have become victims.

"Everything we do is for the community," said Riley. "It's to give back to the community so I'm not sure why anyone would do this."

The worst part of the story is that the outreach center is completely donation based.
