Girl Falls And Dies In Pembroke Pines Home Pool

PEMBROKE PINES (CBS4) ― A 1-year-old toddler drowned after falling in a family pool in Pembroke Pines Monday night.

The girl's grandfather, Alejandro Rodriguez, called fire rescue after he removed the girl from the pool. According to officials, Rodriguez was babysitting the girl when he fell asleep inside the house. That's when the girl got out of the house through a rear sliding glass door and fell into the pool.

When he awoke, he looked for her and found her inside the pool.

Fire Rescue transported her to Memorial West Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.
