Police Fire During Pompano Beach Traffic Stop

POMPANO BEACH (CBS4) ― For the second night in a row police in Broward County say they were forced to fire shots during an arrest.

According to preliminary reports, Wednesday night, police were making a traffic stop on a 22-year-old suspect in the area of 532 SW 2nd Street in Pompano Beach. Police say after he was stopped, he tried to run over a BSO deputy with his vehicle. That deputy discharged his weapon, and the adult male fled on foot.

Shortly thereafter deputies were able to catch up to him and arrest him. No one was injured.

Detectives continue to interview the suspect to find out exactly what happened.

Tuesday night two men were shot during an undercover sting operation in Tamarac.
