Babysitter Arrested After Child Is Shot At Home

MIAMI (CBS4) ― Police arrested a babysitter after a little girl was accidentally shot by a toddler in Miami.

Detectives say 18-year-old Trevaris Brown left a group of children home alone when the shooting happened. He was babysitting on Saturday night at in the area of NW 1st Avenue in Miami, but admitted going to the store.

That's when police say the two-year-old somehow got a gun and shot an 8-year-old girl in the leg. She is recovering at Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Trevaris is out of jail on $7,500 bond.

It's not clear who owns the gun.
