For the first time the IndyCar Series will open and close its season in Florida.
IndyCar champions Scott Dixon, Dario Franchitti, Dan Wheldon, and Tony Kannan were at the Fontainebleau Resort in Miami on Tuesday to promote the beginning of the 2009 season.
The season kicks off April 5 with the Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg. In October the IndyCar Series will crown its champion under the light as Homestead-Miami Speedway.
IndyCar teams will test out their cars on the 1.5-mile oval in Homestead Feb. 24-25. Fans can come out and watch the event for free.
