Uncle Arrested For Giving Nephew Grain Alcohol

VALRICO, Fla. (AP) ― A 38-year-old Valrico man who alledgedly gave his nephew grain alcohol is being held without bond in Hillsborough County.

According to sheriff's office online records, Tyrone Hamilton Oliver faces charges of assault and two counts of child abuse. It's unclear if he already has an attorney by Saturday, but he hadn't yet been before a judge.

Authorities say Oliver gave his 14-year-old nephew grain alcohol and cigarettes on Friday night. The boy, who had passed out, was later taken to a Brandon hopsital for alcohol poisoning treatment. His blood-alcohol level was 0.267.
