Bama-Florida: Hurry Up And Wait
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) ―
No. 1 Florida and No. 3 Alabama have plenty of business to attend to before they can worry about facing each other for the Southeastern Conference title.
The Crimson Tide set up an SEC championship game rematch for Dec. 5 with Saturday's come-from-behind 24-15 win over No. 9 LSU.
Florida had already secured its title-game spot before Saturday's 27-3 victory over Vanderbilt gave the Gators their 19th straight win.
Both teams should be sizable favorites in their remaining three regular-season games.
The coaches were trying to keep the focus on those games. Alabama's Nick Saban pointed out, "We really have a lot of games to play."
Florida's Urban Meyer said the best thing about being 9-0 is the chance to move to 10-0.
